# STR - Cost Seg now or later

is it better to purchase STR this year and cost seg the following year to take adventage of the catch up? or it is better to purchase and cost seg the same year? which will generate max tax savings?

Location: Las Vegas

value: $610K

Option 1 - purchase (Dec) and cost seg (Dec) in 2024

Option 2 - purchase (Dec) 2024 and cost seg 2025. Start STR in 2025
