You mentioned that any business you pay $600+ during the year must get a 1099. I assume you meant service-based businesses (so I don’t owe the local hardware store any forms), but does that include something like your law firm? An article from QB comparing 1099-MISC and -NEC suggests attorneys and law firms are typically due a 1099. I guess I’m struggling to see where the line is. I appreciate you guys taking the time to do these Q&As. Thanks.
