Real Estate Pro- HOURS

Hi Mark and Mat,

Thanks for all you do…I’ve binged your content, podcasts, blogs, etc.

The good news: I have learned a ton!

The bad news: I have learned my tax guy is a pencil pusher, and not a very good one at that!

I’m happy to report that I’ve connected with one of your tax advisors and expect my future taxes to be more accurate.

For the RE Pro HOURS:

I drive 4.5 hours from my home to my rental property (usually monthly). Is this travel time allowed for the RE Pro hourly requirement?

I then fly (2-3 times per year) from Alaska to the midwest to check on my rental properties there. I usually combine this with multiple days of work on the rentals. Flight time only is anywhere from 8-12 hours each way. Are any of the hours spent traveling (flying/driving) counted towards the RE Pro status?

Sorry for the question! I’ve read travel time to and from your properties is NOT allowed in counting toward the 750 hour minimum. (I’ll still keep track of the mileage tho, lol) Thanks for all you do!

Answered your question on today’s show. 6/14. Thank you!! Mark and Mat
